Migrants - those who leave the places they belong to that have become inhospitable, who flee the worst or search for the best - follow paths of desire, expectations and hopes. They show the symptoms of the productions and reproductions of dissatisfaction and suffering, they bring as a gift their own creative individual, family or collective enterprise. The most favourable outcomes are often offered in the encounter capable of experiencing the multiple resonances of the intercultural dimension. The exercise of reciprocity between borders and contact, and the relationship in the whole of its logical and symbolic components allow, to those who approach migrations for a time or a long time, evolutionary openings. Starting from some reflections on the elsewhere that becomes present - that challenges us, distances us, inhabits us - this occasion suggests an individual vocation and a common question in the sense of travel.
IVAN CARLOT - is a philosopher analyst and counsellor trainer, expert in refugee reception and protection, involved in intercultural training.
ASPIC member and lecturer, teaches humanistic approach courses. Lecturer from 2008 to 2015 at the Master on Immigration at Ca' Foscari University of Venice, trainer since 2013 at the University of Pisa. Consultant for the implementation of European projects, such as the recent Resiland Project, and at institutions, in collaboration with associations and cooperatives.
He has collected and published exchanges of stories with migrants in the books Di tè in tè (2002 and 2008), Indirizzi sconosciuti (2005 and 2008), Attraverso il Centro (2006) published by Genesidesign.
