The dominant emotional tonality in our time is a depressed and depressive, losing and powerless, discouraged one....
I believe it is very important to nurture, nourish and discover within oneself a different emotional tonality: not an easy optimism that has no construct or strength, but an emotional tonality that comes from the virtue of courage. The courage that is little talked about is a founding element of the poetic act, of the creative act. In fact, there is no poetic act, understood as that which inaugurates the new, the unprecedented, which does not have behind it a good dose of courage, a good heart and a good liver.
The mediocrity of the present is caused by the absence of courage.
That is why I would like to start my reflection with the right "heart tone" needed to face the radical and decisive challenges that confront and overpower us.
